The only rule that really matters

If you remember one thing from this entire blog, make it this: do a little more over time. A bit more weight, one more rep, one more set, better form than last week. That’s progressive overload, and it’s the engine behind nearly every result worth having.

Everything else people argue about online — exact rep ranges, the “best” split, tempo, exotic exercises — is fine-tuning. It matters at the margins, and only once the main thing is in place. Most people obsess over the margins while never actually adding weight to the bar month over month.

A test: could you say, honestly, that you’re lifting more now than three months ago? If yes, you’re training. If no, no program tweak will save you — the lever you’re missing is the big one.
